Protect California Veterans – Oppose Prop 61

Posted on

Defeating Proposition 61 on California’s November ballot is a huge priority for our organization. That’s because Prop 61 would take away a special benefit provided to those who have served our country and the measure could increase prescription drug costs for veterans. We hope you will join us in the fight to protect veterans by joining the official campaign opposed to Prop 61.
The US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) receives special discounts on prescription drugs for veterans in honor of their service to our country. This helps keep medicines affordable to the 75% or veterans who currently pay low out-of-pocket co-pays for prescriptions, and the 25% of vets who pay no prescription co-pays. Prop 61 attempts to extend these special discounts to some state programs. History has shown that when these special discounts are provided to other sizable populations, VA costs goes up.
If Prop 61 passes and VA prescription costs go up, there would be added pressure to increase prescription drug co-pays for veterans and to limit the availability of certain drugs. Join the campaign opposed to Prop 61 and help protect veterans.
